Homework

Homework is due in on a Tuesday. Every week you need to complete a talk about, read about, write about and practice. The talk about will be something we have already done at school that week. The read about is to read a book on bug club. If you have any problems with your bug club account please let Ms Smith or Ms Sweeney know with a note in your diary and we can help. The write about task will be something different each week and will follow on from something we have done at school. The practice is to go onto Times Table Rockstars and play some games. Ms Sweeney is able to see when you logged in to all of these websites when she marks your homework, and they will be checked before awarding the Gold, Silver or Bronze award.

Spellings

Our spellings and phonics groups have their test on a Friday afternoon. We then do a pre-test for the new spellings and these are sent home in homework books. We check progress against the pre-test the following Friday.

Times Tables

Times tables are really important to us in Year 4! Ahead of the Multiplication Check in June we do lots and lots of practice at school. It would really support us if you can practice as much as possible at home too. Every child has a set of times table facts they are working on, according to their TTRS heatmap. We also have a focus table for the class which we practice at school. There are lots of other websites you can use to help you practice your tables.

There's lots more information on our times tables page:
