Art and DT week Tuesday 15th June - Thursday 17th June 2021
This year has been extremely difficult with Covid restrictions dictating how many lessons can or cannot be taught. However, fantastic news, the art and design technology week was still able to take place! This year the theme was animal sculptures and each class were given an eight foot wooden carving of their chosen animal and challenged to bring it to life using a range of materials and resources. The animals were a mixture of woodland and jungle animals and will be displayed outside around the school.
The children have practiced many different skills this week including planning, testing materials, painting, drawing, printing, clay sculpture, teamwork, evaluation and lots more! The finished pieces look absolutely amazing and once varnished, will be ready to be displayed for all to enjoy.
In the meantime, here are some photographs of the finished pieces (please zoom to appreciate the level of detail and range of different materials used).
